Corio Bay Snapper on Soft Plastics

Recently had a chance to get out into Corio Bay chasing snapper on soft plastics. With a little bit of guidance from our good friend Corey at Calm Water fishing we were able to find a few fish just before dark one evening.

Fishing 5″ jerkshads rigged on 1/2 ounce jigheads we were able to get through the school of salmon and hook up to a few snapper. We lost two before landing a solid 70+ cm model just before dark.

A few weeks later Rob went out with Corey for a session and they managed to get onto quite a few great fish using the same method, this time using 6″ squidgy whipbaits.
