A kayak trip into some remote bass water had been in the planning for quite a while, and with the end of summer looming, it was now or never. Carrying everything we needed to survive and to paddle off into the wilderness chasing one of Australia’s hardest fighting freshwater fish was an exhilarating feeling. The thought that for a few days we would be isolated, exploring and fishing some pristine bass waters amongst some amazing scenery.
The extensive planning and preparedness ensured we ended up safe and sound at our designated exit point on the river a few days later, and that is when the sense of accomplishment and relief set in. An amazing and successful wilderness trip that will be forever embedded in our memories.
